The Fernández family, with the mother tending the pots and the grand María supervising the tables, will give you an honest tour of the best Basque food in town. Their “top-notch” ingredients are prepared simply in the traditional style. Frequented by “local and national” patrons, it’s often “packed” when conventions or fairs come to the city. Ideally you should “try lots of things”, but their star dishes are hake (in any of its versions) and the potato and cod omelettes. Definitely worth a visit. But you’ll want to book ahead.
